After a lot of searching to find something to replace my giant touring windshield to relieve a bit of wind off my chest and face, I settled on the Marlin. Service was great and the price was reasonable enough and product arrived directly from UK quickly. The windscreen and mounting system is clean, simple, easy to install and looks beautiful on the bike. The product itself seems solid and well built. However….. the wind (and bugs) that used to hit my chest all now get funneled directly into my face. At highway speeds it relives the arm fatigue from holding on as tight as with no screen, but the wind noise, bug impacts, and helmet buffeting are increased. As there is no adjustment there is nothing I can do. I feel that if the screen were 2” taller, or if I could reduce the rake angle of the screen it would perhaps deflect the airstream high enough to be effective. So…. While I love the look of it, and believe it is of high quality, it’s rather detrimental at highway speeds and therefore relegated to city riding, or bombing around the backroads at 80 kmh. It really does look good so I’m sad it’s not more effective. I’m 5’11” and 200 lbs, have my bars set back with 3” ROX risers and sit pretty relaxed so I’m not sitting stiff backed and high. If it sent the airstream a little higher this product would be a solid 5.
