I got my first Guzzi new in '75 as a wedding present to myself, an 850T Interceptor. I needed to sell it to help with the down payment on our first house. It was a tough choice. The wife won. Jump ahead 48yrs and about 25 bikes later: I got the new V7 Special because it was as close to that bike as I could get, i.e., wire wheels, dual analog gauges, no stupid looking headlight like on the Stone, and to replace my old BMW R1100RT and R1150GS. They were getting too big to enjoy. I've never seen another V7 on the road and I get a lot of positive comments when I stop from people of all ages. Mine is grey and I took off the adhesive badges and trim but kept the eagle on the tank . I added a Guzzi chromed luggage rack, black engine guards, Mistral Long Polished Stainless exhaust, and a center stand. I ordered a Dart medium grey tint fly screen and it looks great. It complements the lines of the bike without ruining the scale of the front end. It reminds me of the '76 Guzzi LeMans.... WHICH I WOULD HAVE WAITED FOR IF I KNEW IT WAS COMING OUT JUST A FEW MONTHS AFTER I GOT THE 850T!!!!!!! (sorry, just a little bitter)
My next step is to have the black rear fender painted grey like the tank and front fender. The old T fenders were chrome. But I should probably do something about the suspension first; not the best for my 230lbs. How many stone is that? My only real complaint is the lousy service from Piaggio and my local (60mi) dealer: Eurocycle Sonoma. I could write a book, well, several paragraphs. I'd buy another.
